DIES AFTER OPERATION

FORMER HELEN DELINGER, 44, BELIEVED RECUPERATING FROM SURGERY

A day before she was to have returned to her Omaha home, Mrs. Chris B. Nelsen, (nee Helen Delinger), 44, passed away at Methodist hospital, on Saturday, Feb. 3. Her sudden death was the result of complications which unexpectedly set in more than a week following a major operation.

Born at Petersburg, Nebr., on May 6, 1899, Mrs. Nelsen and other members of the Delinger family came to Blair around 35 years ago. She was employed as switchboard operator at Blair Telephone Co. for more than ten years, following her graduation from Blair high school.

On August 10, 1937, she was married to Chris B. Nelsen, a salesman for Rubenstein Wholesale Grocers. No children were born to the couple.

Funeral services were held at Campbell’s Mortuary, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, with Father Adelbert J. Smith of St. Mary’s Episcopal church officiating. Miss Margaret Barnes of Omaha, a close friend of the deceased woman, sang at the services.

Pallbearers were Hugh J. Cooke, Jack Lazure, Ernest Schmidt, Orval Scheffler, Clifford Krause and Frank J. Wolff. Burial took place in Blair cemetery.

MRS. HELEN NELSEN DIED FEBRUARY 3RD

Mrs. Helen F. Nelson, known to Blair friends as Helen Delinger, died last Saturday in the Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Deceased was born on May 6, 1899 at Petersburg, Nebraska, and about thirty five years ago the family moved to Blair where Helen attended the Blair schools, and for a long term of years served most efficiently as a telephone operator.

Ten years ago she married Chris B. Nelsen, and they immediately went to Omaha where they have since been connected with the Keen Hotel.

She leaves to mourn her the husband of Omaha; her mother, Mrs. Hattie Delinger; her sisters, Mrs. R. H. Robinson and Mrs. Frank Fischer, all of Blair; and her brother, Warren Delinger of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Funeral services were held in Blair on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Campbell Mortuary with Rev. A. Smith officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
