NORMAN L. STORK, 73

Norman L. Stork, 73, of Arlington, died Thursday, june 13, 2002, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services were Monday, June 17, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. The Rev. Dennis Maaske and Vicar Michael Myer officiated. Interment was at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Norman L. Stork was born Nov. 19, 1928, in Arlington to Martin and Helena (Laaker) Stork. He was a 1947 graduate of Arlington High School, and still holds the state record for the 60-yard dash. He was born and lived all his life at a farm north of Arlington, where he farmed until retiring Jan. 1, 2002.

He was an American Breeders Service representative for 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington, where he served on various boards and held a number of offices; and he was a member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League. He belonged to many cattlemen’s organizations at the local, state and national levels. He was a 33-year member of the Arlington Rural Fire Board, and served as secretary and treasurer for 19 years. He was also active in the area’s 4-H programs.

On Aug. 14, 1949, he married Joan M. Vogt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death in 1996.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Joyce Stork of Fremont; daughters and sons-in –law, Janine and Stan Carlson of Omaha, and Kris and Jeff Hallstrom of Arlington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd and Phyllis Stork of Upland, Calif., and Victor and Violet Stork of Fremont; sister and brother-in-law, Gretchen and Marlen Wolf of Fremont; brother-in-law and wife, Lloyd and Rosalyn Vogt of Arlington; sisters-in-law and husbands, Opal and K.R. Miller of Fremont, Dorothy Vogt of Arlington, and Doris and C.W. Rydstrom of Omaha; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Stork.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington, the Lutheraran Church Missouri Synod World Missions, and the Masonic Home 4-H Club at Fremont.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Kent & Joyce Stork of Fremont; daughters & sons-in-law, Janine & Stan Carlson of Omaha and Kris & Jeff Hallstrom of Arlington; brothers & sisters-in-law, Floyd & Phyllis Stork of Upland, CA and Victor and Violet Stork of Fremont; sister & brother-in-law, Gretchen & Marlen Stork of Fremont; brother-in law, Lloyd & wife Rosalyn Vogt of Arlington; sisters-in-law, Opal & husband, K.R. Miller of Fremont; Dorothy Vogt of Arlington and Doris & husband, C.W. Rydstrom of Omaha; and 4 grandchildren, Zach & Nat Stork and Alex & Emily Hallstrom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan, who died December 8, 1996; and sister, Dorothy Stork.
