Lois M. Harris, 86, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died Dec. 28, 2011, at Primrose Retirement Community.

Per her wishes, her body was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Lois M. O'Neill was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Council Bluffs to Leslie and Grace O'Neill. She worked as the bookkeeper at Gardner Implement Company in Missouri Valley, and as a shoe salesperson at Harris Shoes in Blair.

She enjoyed growing flowers, dancing, travel, and many table games. She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and Daughter of the Nile, and was also a member of the Blair Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; two stepsons and their wives; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, sister, two husbands, and one son.
