Dorothy A. Logemann, 94

Member of Evening Circle & Lucky Day Club

Washington County native Dorothy A. Logemann, 94, died Feb. 9, 2012, at Marquis Place in Elkhorn.

Services were Monday, Feb. 13, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington.

Dorothy Arline Sorensen was born May 6, 1917, on a farm south of Kennard to Hans and Christine (Cook) Sorensen. She was baptized Oct. 28, 1917, and confirmed on May 11, 1930, in the Lutheran faith.

She attended grade school through the 10th grade in the Washington school before finishing at Fremont High School, graduating in 1934. After high school, she received her teaching certificate from Midland College in Fremont, and taught school for seven years.

On Feb. 16, 1941, she married Lester Logemann and they moved to a farm south of Bennington where they lived for 38 years. When her husband's health declined, they retired and moved into Bennington.

They became members of St. John's Lutheran Church in 1941. Mrs. Logemann was a member of the Evening Circle and the Lucky Day Club. She taught Sunday School and Bible school and held many offices in the L.C.W.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Carol of Decatur, Ill., and Darrell and CoeLeta of Bennington; three grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Harry and Betty Sorensen of Omaha and Lorene Andersen of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; brother, Clark Sorensen; sister, Grace Golder; granddaughter, Jackie Stork; and great-grandsons, Justin and Jason Stork.
