IVAN K. JOHANSEN

Services for Ivan K. Johansen who died at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital on August 3, 1988 were held on Saturday morning at 10 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church.

Ivan was born on February 2, 1916 at Plainview, Nebraska to Kristian F. and Lillie Johnson Johansen. He moved to Fremont at the age of 12 and later to Lincoln.

Ivan attended Dana College and in 1935 toured Denmark with the Dana Choir.

He was united in marriage to G. Agnes Petersen on May 28, 1938 in Lincoln, Nebraska. To this union three sons were born.

Ivan joined United Airlines in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1943. In 1978 he retired from United as a maintenance engineer specialist.

After retiring Ivan and Agnes returned to Blair where for the past 10 years he has been involved in community activities serving as Treasurer of Danish Brotherhood and Board of Directors of Good Shepherd Home and worked to see his dream realized.

Mr. Johansen is survived by his wife Agnes; three sons, Ivan K. Johansen Jr. of Perthamboy, New Jersey; Charles P. Johansen, Boston, Mass.; and Mark D. Johansen of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Leona Hansen of Blair, Dorithy Obbink of Lincoln, and Vera Mae Barbeau of Millbrae, California.

Graveside services were held in the Blair Cemetery with Rev. Carl Schattauer officiating and assisted by Florence Hansen.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
