ONE-TIME BLAIR WOMAN DIED IN MINNESOTA

Mrs. Hattie Johns, widow of the late Arthur Johns, died Tuesday at Little Fork, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Johns were area residences many years ago. They farmed in the Pleasant View district north of Blair and later bought the Grimm farm adjoining the Dana College campus where they operated a dairy for a number of years. The farm was later known as the “College Farm” after it had been purchased by Dana College.

Mrs. Johns was born in Connecticut August 1, 1880, and would have been 94 years of age had she lived until the first of next month.

Her husband, Arthur, died in 1950.

She was the mother of ten children, nine of whom are still living.

The sons are Robert Johns, Marysville, Washington; Russell Johns, Bennington, Nebr.; Arnold, Fredrickstown, Missouri and Byron, of Little Fort, Minnesota. Edmond Johns preceded his mother in death.

The daughters are Gertrude Johns, of Little Fork, Minnesota; Mrs. Don Williams (Isabelle) of California; Mrs. Lee Rhoades (Doris) of California; Mrs. George Haberer (Janie) of Dixon, Ill.; and Mrs. Orland Barnes (Mary) of Little Fork, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at the Hadan-Golden Mortuary in Bennington, Nebraska Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery.
