Margaret Thomas, 74

Always Had One Pet Cat In Her Home

Margaret Thomas, 74, of Blair, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 4, at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Margaret Sullivan was born Feb. 28, 1938, in McClelland, Iowa to John and Flora Sullivan. She was a graduate of Missouri Valley High School.

She spent much of her working career as a waitress at several different restaurants. She was a cat lover, always having one pet cat in her home. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family gatherings, and her family always looked forward to her pans of lasagna during the Christmas season. Over the years, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making numerous afghans for family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Francis Thomas of Blair; sons and daughter-in-law, Craig Hammer and Troy and Shelley Thomas; stepchildren, John and Stacey Thomas, Michelle Thomas, and Bryan Thomas and significant other, Tina: eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; stepbrothers Jack Smith, Francis Eugene Smith, Bernie Smith and Vergil Smith; several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ginger Masters, and grandson Jason Masters.
