AMY JO JOHNSON, 32

Funeral services for Amy Jo Johnson, 32, of Hooper, were held Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Tom Shaw officiated. Interment was at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Mrs. Johnson, along with her family, was killed in an automobile accident on Saturday, Aug. 10, near Purcell, Okla.

Amy Jo Johnson was born May 9, 1970 in Fremont to Ronald and Phyllis Mueller. She grew up in Fremont and was a 1988 graduate of Fremont High School. She had been active in high school athletics and drill team. She moved to Hooper in 2000. She previously had been employed at the Furst Group and at A.J. Merrick Manor, both in Fremont.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont, was an officer in the Fremont Wrestling Club, and a member of the Parents Involved in Education (PIE). She also coached children’s softball.

On Feb. 19, 1994, she married Rodney W. Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The couple had three children, Allyssa, 12, Sheldon, 8, and Mariah, 5.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her mother and stepfather, Phyllis and Jon Young of Fremont; father and stepmother, Ronald and Sharon Mueller of Fremont; sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Dr. Barrett Schmidt of Fremont; four stepsisters and their husbands, Erin Young of Lincoln, Dr. Angela and Mark Remington of Omaha, Sara and Clint Dreyer of Harrisburg, S.D., and Cassandra Hass of Fremont; stepbrother and wife, Chadd and Stormi Young of Fremont; grandparents, Donna Mueller, Marvin and Mary Lou Gorden, Frank and Deldine Young, and Robert and Virgene Muller, all of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather.

Memorials are suggested to the Rod and Amy Jo Johnson Family Memorial.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
