SERVICES FOR ARTHUR JOHNSON WERE SATURDAY

Services for a former Arlington, Nebraska barber were held Saturday afternoon. Arthur J. Johnson, 85, passed away on Thursday, February 20, at the Crowell Home in Blair.

The services were Saturday, February 22, at the Arlington Community Church with Rev. Bryce Hecht officiating. Reckmeyer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born on April 9, 1889 in Dundy County. He had lived in the Fremont and Valley area before moving to Arlington 43 years ago. He had been a resident of the Crowell Home, in Blair, for the past two years.

In 1911, Mr. Johnson married Alice Payne in Arlington. Mrs. Johnson passed away on July 20, 1962. Mr. Johnson is survived by two children: Arlyn Johnson of Howells, Nebraska and Mrs. LeRoy (Frances) Brown of Arlington. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

There are four brothers and sisters surviving. The brothers are Otto Johnson, of Blair; Elmer Johnson of Sarasota, Florida. Sisters are: Mrs. Lewis (Minnie) Million of Sidney and Mrs. H.P. (Lillie) Fras of Dalton.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Johnson’s name for the Crowell Home.

Music was provided for the services by Mrs. Alvin Voss and Mrs. Jack Cady.

Pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were Kent Pflug, Terry Brown, Thomas Brown, Timothy Brown, Douglas Oldham, and Gary Oldham.
