BEULAH I. JOHNSON, 93

Beulah I. Johnson, 93, of Fremont, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the Fremont Alliance Church. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Visitation began Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, and will also be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Beulah I Johnson was born Sept. 21, 1911, in Blair to Chris and Marie (Nielson) Gutschow. She grew up in Blair and graduated from Blair High School.

On May 20, 1933, she married Clifford Johnson at Spirit Lake, Iowa. The couple farmed at Scribner from 1940 until 1987, then moved to Fremont.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Fremont Alliance Church, and was a former Sunday School teacher, a member of the Christian Women’s Association, and conducted Bible study groups at her home. She was also a member of a Scribner extension club.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in –law, Robert and Sharon Johnson of Scribner and Richard and Rita Johnson of Fremont; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ellen and Dennis Hansen of O’Neill and Jacqueline Cosseboom of Fremont; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Kay Gutschow of Fremont; three sisters, Erna Engelke and Margaret Metzler, both of Blair, and Cathy Giesselmann of Fremont; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; sister, Jenny Larson; and two brothers, Fred and Bill Gutschow.

Memorials are suggested to the Billy Graham Crusade.
