CHRIS JOHNSON RITES HELD SAT.

Mr. Chris Johnson passed away Thursday, August 8th, at the Memorial Community Hospital, where he had been confined for the past two weeks.

He was born February 10, 1881 at Galesburg, Illinois and came to Washington County with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Johnson, in 1883.

He was married to Christine Mortensen on May 3, 1907 and they were the parents of two sons, Raymond and Richard, both of Blair.

Mr. Johnson was a printer at the Lutheran Publishing Company most of his life.

His wife passed away April 4, 1950 and he is survived by his two sons, two grandchildren and a sister Hannah, who made her home with her brother.

Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 10th, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Frank Nielsen officiated. The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Robert Krogh, Otto Stave, Henry Wolsmann, Leonard Monk, LeRoy and Vernette Johnson.
