CLIFFORD L. JOHNSON, 82

Services for Clifford L. Johnson, 82 of Fremont and formerly of Scribner, who died September 14, 1993 at his home are 2 p.m. Thursday, September 16 at the Fremont Alliance Church. Rev. Eddie Masters is officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Clifford L. Johnson was born February 9, 1911 at Pueblo, Colorado. He moved to the Arlington area in 1912 and attended Bisbee School until age 15 when he began farming to support his family.

He moved to California and in 1935 was a night watchman at Sears Roebuck & Co.

He returned to Nebraska and moved to Scribner where he farmed. He retired in 1987 and moved to Fremont.

He was a lifetime member of the Fremont Alliance Church and served several years on the church board. He was a former 4-H leader and worked at the Scribner Fair.

He married Beulah I. Gutschow May 20, 1933 at Spirit Lake, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ellen Larson Johnson; a brother, Emil and a sister, Huldah Lunstedt.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah; two sons, Robert A. Johnson of Scribner and Richard Johnson of Fremont; two daughters, Ellen (Mrs. Dennis) Hansen of O’Neill, Nebraska and Jacqueline (Mrs. John) Cosseboom of Fremont; a brother, Gilbert Johnson of Glendale, California; a sister, Minnie Rasmussen of Glendale; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Brian Johnson, Michael Johnson, Bret Johnson, Paul Johnson, Gene Hansen, Dale Hansen, Joel Hansen, Cris Hansen, David Cosseboom and Jason Cosseboom.

Norma Dorsett is pianist. Charlotte Bussey is soloist.

Memorials may be made to the Bill Graham Crusade or James Dobson, Focus on the Family Ministries.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.

CLIFFORD JOHNSON

The funeral for Clifford L. Johnson, 82, 41`2 W. 21st Ave., will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Fremont Alliance Church.

Johnson died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1993, at his home.

He was born Feb. 9, 1911, in Pueblo, Colo. He moved to the Arlington area in 1912 and attended Bisbee School until he was 15, when he began farming to support his family. He moved to California in 1935 and was a night watchman at Sears Roebuck & Co. Johnson returned to Nebraska and farmed in the Herman and North Bend areas until 1940, when he moved to farm near Scribner. He retired in 1987 and moved to Fremont.

Johnson was a lifetime member of Fremont Alliance Church and served several years on the church board. He was a former 4-H leader and had worked at the Scribner fair.

He married Beulah Gutschow May 20, 1933, at Spirit Lake, Iowa. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Robert A. of Scribner and Richard of Fremont; two daughters, Ellen Hansen of O’Neill and Jacqueline Cosseboom of Fremont; a brother, Gilbert of Glendale, Calif.; a sister, Minnie Rasmussen of Glendale; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

The Rev. Eddie Masters will officiate Thursday’s service. Visitation is in progress until 9 tonight and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, both at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, and an hour before the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials have been established to Bill Graham Crusade and James Dobson Focus on the Family Ministries.
