Services for Pearl Gaines, 90, of Arlington, who died February 23, 1993, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, were Saturday, February 27 at Arlington Community Church in Arlington. Rev. Lee Milligan officiated. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Pearl L. Gaines was born September 29, 1902, in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She lived at Blair and Omaha until moving to Arlington in 1958.

She was a member of Arlington Community Church and Sarepta Chapter No. 48, Order of Eastern Star where she was a 50 year member.

She married Henry U. “Bud” Gaines March 1, 1958, at David City, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Ida Fryman Rhoades; a daughter, Donna Pfeiffer and step-son, Larry Gaines.

She is survived by her husband, Henry “Bud”; a daughter, Virginia Rhea of San Francisco, California; a brother, James Rhoades of Denver, Colorado; a sister, Margaret (Mrs. Rodney) Selby of Mesa, Arizona; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dr. Lauren Spangler, Carson Day, Bill Rhea, Jr., Bob Monke, Ched House and Dr. Louis Otto.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
