Kenneth L. Erickson, 47

Kenneth L. Erickson, 47, of Arlington, died on Sunday, March 11, 2012, in rural Arlington.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, at the Arlington Auditorium. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Prairie View Cemetery.

Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Erickson was born on Oct. 21, 1964, in Omaha to Derald and Cheryl (Baker) Erickson. He attended school in Arlington and graduated in 1983.

He was a farmer with a love of fishing, hunting and taxidermy. He always had fun no matter what he was doing or what he was wearing – the goofier the better. He really enjoyed going to his sons’ wrestling matches and football games. You always knew he was there because he could holler louder than anyone.

He was very proud of his kids and all that they had accomplished. He was a great father, son, brother, uncle and probably the best friend anyone could ask for. He could not have been happier when Lindsey shot her first deer. He really loved to hunt and fish with his kids, family and friends.

The last year of his life was probably the happiest he was for a long time after he met Julie.

He is survived by his parents, Derald and Cheryl Erickson; children, Lindsey, Cody and Zach; brother, Kyle Erickson; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Jason Kubie; grandmother, Naomi Garner; special friend, Julie Vodicka, and her children, Evan and Lauren; and two nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Arlington Youth Foundation and the Kennard Methodist Church building fund.

Arlington man dies in weekend accident

Kenny Erickson, 47, of rural Arlington was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle rollover accident near Arlington Sunday morning.

Detective Kevin Willis of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said he was unsure what time the accident occurred, but it was reported to authorities at about 7:45 a.m. by a passerby who came across the scene just south of U.S. Highway 30 on County Road 19.

“Apparently the vehicle was traveling southbound and went off the west side of the road, and I don’t know why, but lost control and rolled over, sliding sideways,” Willis said.
