EDNA JOHNSON, 89

Services for Edna H. Johnson, 89 of Fremont who died December 1, 1993 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County were Monday, December 6 at Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle. Rev. Scott Postlewait officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Edna Ruwe Johnson was born January 3, 1904 in rural Winslow and graduated from Hooper High School. She attended Midland Lutheran College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

She lived for many years in the Nickerson/Fontanelle area and moved to Fremont four years ago.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle; its Christian Women’s Missionary Society; was a Sunday School teacher; a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; the Garden and Study Club of Fontanelle; Sunshine Club; Nickerson Fireman’s Auxiliary and was a Girl Scout leader.

She married Raymond Johnson September 24, 1930 at Tea, South Dakota. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Robert of Nickerson; two brothers, Melvin and Chris, both of Fremont; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established to the Tabitha Home in Lincoln.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
