F. IRENE JOHNSON, 71

F. Irene Johnson, 71, of Blair, died on Oct. 14, 1999, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at the First United Methodist Church in Woodbine, Iowa. Dr. A.K. Saul officiated. Burial was in the Woodbine Cemetery in Woodbine, Iowa.

F. Irene Johnson was born Jan. 31, 1928 to Rockwell Dan and Martha (Moore) Hull in Woodbine, Iowa. She graduated from Woodbine high School in 1945, and worked for the Woodbine Telephone company.

On Jan. 12, 1947, she married Robert Johnson at the First United Methodist Church in Woodbine, Iowa. The couple lived in Woodbine, Iowa, until 1954, then moved to Missouri Valley. In 1963, they moved to Blair. She worked at the Safeway Store, Miss Shop, Goodrich Store and Blair Public Schools. The couple also managed a motel in Maryville, Kan. for a short time.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Blair, and was a past president of the Eagles Club of Blair.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Johnson of Blair; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard L. and Nancy Johnson and Randy L. and Joan Johnson, all of Fort Calhoun; one daughter and son-in-law, Diana and William Snavely of Blair; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Mary Hull of Logan, Iowa, and Howard and Mary Lou Hull of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister-in-law, DeLoris Hull of Woodbine, Iowa; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Robert Hull.

Fouts Funeral Home of Woodbine and Dunlap, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church building fund in Blair, the Blair Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
