Mary E. Gallup, age 72, of Decatur, died Sunday, May 7, 1989, at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, after a brief illness.

Mary was born on October 2, 1916, at Decatur to Thomas G. and Nora L. (Jackson) Taylor. She married Paul Gallup on August 18, 1933, at Dakota City, Nebraska. Mr. Gallup died December 11, 1984.

Survivors include one daughter, Glenda (Mrs. Gordon) Richardson of Whiting, Iowa; five grandchildren: Paulette Hawley of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Paul Lewis Gallup of Norfolk, Patty Farris of Mondamin, Iowa, and Charity and Amelia Marie Richardson, both of Whiting, Iowa; three great-grandchildren; Nicole and Travis Hawley of Council Bluffs, and Derek Farris of Mondamin; five brothers: John Taylor of Falls City, James Taylor of Decatur, Bill Taylor of Wakefield, Dale (Stub) Taylor of Dixon, and Harvey Taylor of Lyons; one sister, Madge Pounds of Decatur; several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, four sisters, and one son (Paul E. Gallup).

Funeral services were May 10 at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Decatur with Elder Dale Wolf officiating. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur.
