Alice Galvin

Alice Isabell Galvin was born August 11, 1917, in Laurel to Orva R. and Ruby Robson French.

She came to Omaha in her teenage years and spent her lifetime in Omaha.

She worked as a waitress in several places, as a food caterer and in food service.

She died June 7, 1987, while at home.

She lived to be 69 years, 7 months and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Tonack; two sisters, Maxine (Mrs. Wayne Lyle) and Connie (Mrs. Jim Foley).

Galvin is survived by one son, Fred W. Tonack, and daughter-in-law Darlene; one daughter Pat (Mrs. Ron Smith) and son-in-law Ron Smith; two brothers, William French of Boise, Idaho, and Robert French of Cole Camp, Missouri, three sisters, Carol French of New Brighton, Minnesota, Juna (Mrs. Clyde Hurley) of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, and Helen (Mrs. Marvin Lofing) of Fairbury; five grandchildren, Dean, Veronica, Debra and Vance Tonack, and Brenda Smith; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Alice Galvin were held at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bennington on Wednesday, June 10, at 10:30 a.m.

Interment was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Omaha.

Dr. Norman Schroeder officiated.

The Hadan-Golden Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were James and William Foley, Michael J. Koperski, Jr., Jeffrey Schnider, Richard D. Robson and Dennis R. Shannon.

Miriam Sukraw was organist.
