DR. HAROLD G. JOHNSON, 64

Dr. Harold G. Johnson, 64, of Blair died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Services were scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel in Blair, with burial in the Blair Cemetery with military honors conducted by Benson V.F.W. Post 2503. Masonic services were conducted Monday evening at the funeral home.

Harold G. Johnson was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Wichita, Kan. to A. Earl and Ruth (Doty) Johnson.

After he graduated from Hastings High School in 1954, he entered the military, serving for two years.

On Jan. 5, 1957, he married Jeannean Porter in Island Falls, Maine.

Dr. Johnson attended Hastings College, graduating in 1961. He then attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, graduating in 1965.

After graduation, he established a private practice and worked at Immanuel, University, and Methodist Hospitals.

Dr. Johnson was a member of the American Medical Association; Family Practice Association; Benson V.F.W. Post 2503; Washington Lodge 21 AF & AM in Blair; and Tangier Shrine.

He is survived by his wife and grandson, Jeannean Johnson and Anthony Zibafar; daughters and sons-in-laws, Kim and Steven Poynter of Angel Fire, N.M.; Kathy and Mark Stadie of Glenwood, Iowa; one son, Harold Johnson II and his wife, Kim, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his father, A. Earl Johnson of Twin Falls, Idaho; one sister, Dr. Joan Johnson of Petaluma, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth; one daughter, Shari, and granddaughter, Megan.

Memorials are suggested to the University of Nebraska Lied Center.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
