A 38 year old Blair man, Henry F. Johnson, was killed early Thursday morning in a car-truck crash one mile south of Gretna on Highway 6. The accident took place at approximately 5:30 a.m., according to State Highway Patrol information.

The accident reportedly took place when the north bound auto Johnson was driving went into the lane of the south bound semi-trailer truck. The vehicles hit nearly head-on.

Mr. Johnson, his wife and one child, were renting a small house at the rear of 1449 Front Street, just east of the Clifton Hotel. Mrs. Johnson reportedly owned a home in Winnebago.

Mr. Johnson was a section hand for the Chicago and Northwestern railroad out of Blair. He was not on duty at the time of the accident.

At press time Saturday information as to where the body was taken, funeral arrangements, and other details were not available through any Washington County or police officials. It is believed Mrs. Johnson returned to her home in Winnebago.
