JACK JOHNSON, 58

Services were held at Hammel & Peck Funeral Chapel in Tekamah, Nebraska Thursday, March 15 for Jack Richard Johnson, Sr., age 58, of Herman who died March 12, 1990, in Blair of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Masonic Services were conducted by Victory Lodge # 310 of Valley, Nebraska. Rev. Victor Crawford officiated. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

Jack Richard Johnson was born March 15, 1931 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Howard H. and Gladys I. Stueve Johnson. He moved to Valley in 1942.

He graduated from Valley High School in 1950.

He married Beverly Marrow January 18, 1958, who had a son Douglas and was later adopted by Jack. To this union was born two sons, Jack Richard, Jr. and Jeffrey Allen.

He divorced Beverly in March of 1961.

He married Lois Mae Weber Keithley August 8, 1964.

Jack was employed as a welder at Kelly Ryan Equipment Co. of Blair at the time of his death.

Jack was a member of Victory Lodge # 310 A.F. & A.M. at Valley and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3943 of Elkhorn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Lois of Herman; sons and daughters-in-law Jack R. Johnson, Jr. and Sheri; and Jeffrey Allen Johnson, both of Omaha; grandchildren Joshua Johnson, Jennifer Johnson and Jill Johnson, all of Omaha; three sisters, Betty E. Buckley of Valley, Norma Jean Krahmer of Elkhorn, Dora Marie Plymate of New Madrid, Missouri; one brother, Richard Lee Johnson of Torrance, California; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Monte Wulf, Joe Buckley, Ernest Stueve, George Ryan, John Ericksen and Robert Peterson.

Donette Jackson was Organist.

Arrangements were by Hamel & Peck Funeral Home.
