HERMAN: (Crowded out last week)

Katie Margaret Martin was born Feb. 7, 1888 and died Apr. 2, 1924 at the age of 36 yrs. 1 month and 26 days, at the home of her parents, east of town. She was married to Mr. James Johnson, Oct. 31, 1904. To this union one daughter, Opal was born. She was again united in marriage to Mr. Ben Jackson, Nov. 22, 1896, and two daughters came to bless this union, Salome Melinda and Ruth Newell. Mrs. Jackson had been ill since last August and a great sufferer during most of that time, but greater patience than she possessed is not known. She was so considerate and thoughtful to those around her wishing to spare those around her all the burdens possible. She was a kind, loving wife, a good mother and a friend to all who knew her. She recently gave her heart and life to Christ and while every possible aid was given for her recovery the Master saw fit to call her last Wednesday morning to that home where death and sorrow are not known. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Mr. Jackson, her three daughters, Mrs. Opal Tucker of Colorado, Salome and Ruth of Herman, also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harris, besides a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 o’clock at the Baptist church conducted by Rev. Reese and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
