REV. J.D. JOHNSON DIED IN LINCOLN TUESDAY MORNING

The Rev. James D. Johnson, a long-time pastor of the Blair Seventh Day Adventist Church, died at his home in Lincoln last Tuesday morning, May 6th. Rev. and Mrs. Johnson lived at 4751 Bancroft Avenue in Lincoln 68506. The deceased was 91 years of age and had been in failing health for some time.

Rev. Johnson and his wife, Agnes, came to Blair in 1930. Together they worked constantly in the interests of the community and the church of which he was pastor. For many years he was the elected Councilman from Ward One of Blair and his tenure of office reflected the caliber of service he rendered the community and the regard with which he was held by his constituents.

In the fall of 1968, they entered retirement and moved to Lincoln.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 48th and Prescott Street in Lincoln, in the College View area, Friday, May 9.

Survivors besides his wife, Agnes, are two sons: Robert of Omaha and J.D. Johnson, Jr. of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and a daughter, Mrs. Adrian Woods (Mary Ann) of Grass Valley, California; and several grandchildren. Also three brothers: Martin of Lincoln; Max of Grand island; and Dr. Roy Johnson of California.

Burial will be in a Lincoln Cemetery.
