Barbara B. Klanderud, 85, of Blair, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

Services will be Friday, March 16, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Barbara Bond Nelson was born January 21, 1927, in Hartington to David and Helen (Bond) Nelson. She grew up in northeast Nebraska and graduated from Hartington High School.

In 1945, she married Wendell D. Klanderud. They made their home in Blair, where they raised their five children. She worked for many years at Blair West Pharmacy and Memorial Community Hospital as a pharmacy clerk.

Barbara spent her last years at Shepherd’s Village where she made many friends. She was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church and the Blair Fireman’s Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Konda and Timothy Nietfeld of Blair; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Inese Klanderud of Blair, Barry and Kelli Klanderud of Omaha, and Brent and Brenda Klanderud of Omaha; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Cass Kapaska of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sisters-in-law, Jewel Nelson of Bellevue, Eunice Heimes and Betty Klanderud of Hartington; sister and brother-in-law, Phyliss and Lee Fideline of Ralston; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell D. Klanderud; son, Bruce W. Klanderud and brother, David L. Nelson.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

FUNERAL 10 am Friday at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial Blair Cemetery. VISITATION begins at 1 pm on Thursday with family receiving friends from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
