JOHN JOHNSON, 65

John W. Johnson, also known as JW or Bill, died at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, after several years of declining health.

A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church in Blencoe, Iowa, Saturday at 2 p.m.

Mr. Johnson was born May 5, 1932, in Onawa, Iowa. He lived and went to school in the Blencoe area. After high school, he attended Railroad School in Omaha to learn to be a telegraph and depot agent. In September 1952, he was drafted into the Army and served until 1954. After he left the Army, he started a career in sales and then construction. He married Maurine (Nickoleion) Frisk in 1951.

He is survived by his three children, Craig Johnson of Alameda, Calif.; Betheen McClure of Auburn, Nebr.; and Bruce Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa; his father, Carl Johnson of Yucca Valley, Calif.; a brother, Richard Johnson of California; a brother, Tom Johnson; grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
