LAWRENCE JOHNSON DIED IN OMAHA SUNDAY, SEPT. 28

Lawrence “Olie” Johnson, lifetime resident of Washington County, died last Sunday, September 28th at Veteran’s Hospital in Omaha. He was 72 years of age, having been born November 9th, 1900 on a farm near Blair. He was the son of the late Magnus Johnson who will be remembered by many of the older citizens of the area. He was a veteran of World War I.

The deceased was retired and had been making his home at 252 North 22nd street in Blair. His wife was the former Myrtle Blunk, of Blair.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Gaither, of Omaha; and by a granddaughter. A sister, Emma Johnson, lives in Blair.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Monday morning, October 1st, with the Rev. Gordon Patterson of the First Methodist Church conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery. Nephews were pallbearers.
