JOHN A. JOHNSON, WASH. MERCHANT, DIED LAST SATURDAY

John Adolph Johnson, 78 years of age, died Saturday, May 25, 1963 at the Fremont hospital, following a paralytic stroke. He had been ill for some time.

Mr. Johnson was born in Omaha November 25, 1882.

He was married to Emma Winterburn, in Omaha, February 17, 1904.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Leonard Hoier (Nellie) of Kennard; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Marshall, of Arlington; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A son, John W., a brother George, and a sister Anna preceded him in death.

Mr. Johnson lived near Washington, Nebraska where he farmed for sixteen years. Later he was a grocer in Washington for twenty-three years and was retired for the past eighteen years. He was a member of the Methodist church and belonged to the fraternal order of Woodmen of the World Lodge.

Funeral services were held Monday, may 27th at the Swanson Funeral Home in Elkhorn, Nebraska. The Rev. Schmitt of Elkhorn officiated. Pallbearers were Eric Knudsen, Elmer Bertelsen and Russell Dall of Washington; Elmer Nelsen, Wm. Petersen and Harold Misfeldt of Kennard.
