DIES AT ASYLUM

The remains of Jess Ireland were laid to rest in the Blair cemetery Monday, having been shipped here from Norfolk the preceding Saturday evening.

Some time ago, Mr. Ireland was injured while working for M.&O. road at Emerson and at first it was thought it was of a slight nature. While he seemed to recover physically, his mind gradually grew weaker and after treatment at a sanitarium in Omaha, it was decided to take him to Norfolk, which was done about six weeks ago. His condition was a very severe one and abut the only thing that could be done was to make him as comfortable as possible. The end came last Saturday, relatives going to Norfolk to return with the remains the following day.

Jesse J. Ireland was born at Linn, Iowa, Sept. 19, 1869, and was 46 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by a wife who lives in this city, as well as three brothers and one sister. The brothers are O.M.; Charles, and Preston Ireland, all residing either in or near Blair; the sister being Mrs. Dan McManigal of Ft. Calhoun.
