MRS. J.S. JOHNSON DIED AT HOSPITAL HERE MONDAY

Mrs. J.S. Johnson, long-time Blair woman and wife of a former Blair jewelry store operator, died Monday at the Community Memorial Hospital. She was 87 years old and a resident of the Good Shepherd Home at the time of her death.

The Johnson family moved to Blair more than forty years ago and for a number of years, Mr. Johnson operated a jewelry store. Later he retired from active business and for some time was associated with Bette’s Gifts and Jewelry as repair service man in the watch and jewelry department.

During their reclining years, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson lived in the 2400 block on west Washington street. Mr. Johnson preceded Mrs. Johnson in death in 1965.

Mrs. Johnson (Anina) was born in Denmark October 26, 1881.

She was the mother of two daughters, one of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Mildred, who is Mrs. Richard E. Morton, of Lodi, California. Rev. Morton will be remembered as a former President of Dana College. In addition to their daughter, there are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren surviving.

Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. The Rev. George Pallesen will conduct the services. Burial will be made in the Blair cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Rev. C.C. Madsen, Rev. F.W. Thomsen, A.J. Snowbeck, all of Dana College; and Fritz Wolff, Kenneth Jensen and Lee Daggett, of Blair.
