MRS. U. G. GARNER PASSES AWAY

Mrs. U. G. Garner, who has been ill since early last spring, and who for several days has been hovering on the borderland of life and death, passed away this morning at 4:30 o’clock.

Miss Amy Gochenouer was born June 8, 1874 near Fort Dodge, Iowa, and with the family came to Blair in 1882 where she has resided continuously since that time, and where on Sept. 17, 1892 she was married to Mr. U. G. Garner.

To this union two children were born, both boys, Inver, now married and residing in Omaha and Gilford, the younger still at home.

She leaves to mourn her besides a bereaved husband and her two sons, five sisters: Mrs. O. M. Ireland of Blair; Mrs. James Trimble of Kadoka, South Dakota; Mrs. Lou Latta of Blair; Mrs. John Dixon of Ft. Calhoun and Mrs. Gilbert Hines of Blair; also a half sister, Mrs. C. J. Knowington of Omaha.

Mrs. Garner was well and favorably known in Blair. She was a good wife and mother and numbered her friends only by her large circle of acquaintances, and The Enterprise extends its sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

As yet no definite arrangements had been made for the funeral.

Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at the Baptist church for Mrs. U. G. Garner, Rev. Smalley of that church having charge. The funeral was an unusually large one, both Mr. and Mrs. Garner having lived in this locality many years, and both being well and favorably known. The following out of town relatives were present for the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ireland of Yutan, Neb.; Mrs. Otto Ireland and sons of Valley, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rasmussen of Spiker; Mr. and Mrs. Inver Garner of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Knowington of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. John Dixon of Calhoun; Ira Dixon of Calhoun; Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Dixon of Arlington; Mrs. James Trimble of Kadoka, S.D.; Louis Ireland of Omaha.

Mrs. U. G. Garner passed away at her home in this city this morning, November 8, at 4:30 o’clock, after an illness of several months duration, aged 49 years and 5 months.

Aimee Gochenouer was born in Algonia, Iowa, June 8, 1874, but had spent the greater part of her life in Blair. She was married September 17, 1892, to U. G. Garner of this place and was the mother of two sons, Inver Garner, now living in Omaha, and Gilford, at home.

Mrs. Garner was a member of the Baptist Church and gave much of her time to the work of the church and was never happier than when engaged in some social work pertaining to this organization. She had many friends and a large circle of acquaintances who will deeply mourn her untimely death.

Several months ago her health began to fail and her family attributed the cause to a nervous breakdown, but with determined effort on her part, she kept about the house looking after her work and family. She was a great home lover and her family and her sisters were her chief consideration. Especially was she attached to her twin sister, Mrs. Gilbert Hine, who was with her almost continuously during the last few weeks of her life.

Tuesday afternoon she lapsed into a state of unconsciousness from which she did not rally and on Thursday morning her spirit left its frail tenement and ascended to her heavenly home.

There survives to mourn their loss, her husband, two sons, six sisters, Mrs. C. J. Knowington, of Omaha; Mrs. J. M. Trimble, Kadoka, S. D.; Mrs. J. L. Dixon, Ft. Calhoun; Mrs. L. L. Latta, Mrs. O. M. Ireland and Mrs. G. G. Hines of Blair and many other relatives.

While definite arrangements have not been made for the funeral as we go to press, it is likely it will be held at the Baptist Church Saturday afternoon.

The entire community extends sympathy to the sorrowing ones.
