| A memorial service was held Dec. 25, 1997, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., for Mildred Kundel Gasser, a long-time resident on Morro Bay, Calif. A private graveside service was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif. on Jan. 4, 1998.
Mrs. Gasser was born in Omaha to George and Jenny Antill. Following her parents move to Blair, she attended and graduated from the Chas. Gaydou School of Business in Blair. She married Gustav H. Kundel. They owned and farmed the land that is Lakeland Estates. In 1937, they moved to the San Fernando Valley where her husband became a successful builder. After the death of Gustav, she later married Army Col. (retired) John Gasser.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Shaw of Los Osos, Calif.; a granddaughter, Terri Rosebraugh and her husband, Jim; a great-granddaughter, Jenni; a great-great-granddaughter, Erin; and sisters, Helen Munk and Georgia Matzen of Blair.
In addition to her husband, Gustav, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert, who was killed in World War II.
