Henry Gaver

Henry W Gaver, age 69, of Waco, Nebraska, died August 17, 1986, at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha.

He was born April 4, 1917, at Valley, Nebraska, to Henry and Letha (Bayless) by the Rev. A. B. Todd, in Missouri, and confirmed by the Rev. H. Hopmann in York, Nebraska. Henry served in the United States Navy, in the South Pacific, during the 2nd World War.

He married Esther B. Hayes, March 14, 1959, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York.

Henry worked in Land Excavation for the Nebraska Department of Roads, for many years before illness forced him to retire.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Waco; the York American Legion Post No. 19 and served on the Waco Village Board.

He is survived by his wife Esther of Waco; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Bonnie) Obermier of Grand Island; Ms. Russell (Donna) Rice of Waco; one son Douglas Hayes, of Milliken, Colorado; then grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Gaver of McCook; Glenn of York; one sister Helen Haines of York; three step-sisters, Ardith Kelley, of Harrisburg, Illinois; Nadine Lund, of South Pasadena, California, and Bernice Hansen, of Arlington, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
