Services for McKinley W. Irvin, 100, of Blair who died June 30, 1996 at the Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home in Omaha will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 at the Methodist Church in Strahan, Iowa. Burial will be in the Malvern Cemetery.

McKinley W. Irvin was born February 29, 1896 at Miami, Missouri to Windfield Scott Irvin and Susan E. Burnside Irvin.

He was a World War I veteran, serving in the Army from May 13, 1918 to February 10, 1919.

He married Clara M. Bowen at Glenwood, Iowa July 5, 1922.

They lived in Iowa until 1936. They then moved to Craig where they farmed. In 1948, they moved to Blair where he worked for the Gaydou Hatchery.

He had lived at the Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home for the last 12 years.

He was a life member of the Blair American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Mary of Omaha; a daughter, Mrs. Celone Wells of Piscataway, New Jersey; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Edward Morrow of Tekamah; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
