CHRIS IVERSEN, 88

Funeral services for Chris Iversen, 88, were held May 3, 1988, at Sievers-Sprick Mortuary, Fort Calhoun.

Chris was born January 29, 1900, on the farm which was home-steaded in 1856 by his great-grandparents, John and Elisa iversen.

He is the son of the William and Bertha (Fischer) Iversen, pioneer farmers of Washington County.

In 1905, they purchased a farm in the Wranch School District, where Chris grew up and became a farmer.

Through his efforts in swine production, he was given an award of recognition by the Iowa State College of Agriculture, Ames, Iowa.

He retired from farming in 1967, and moved to Fort Calhoun. For a portion of his later years, he helped with the seasonal care of the Calhoun Cemetery.

He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Otto and Christine Iversen; two sisters, Celia Schneider of Blair; Edna Bueher of Omaha; two nephews, Dean Schneider of Omaha and David Bueher of Midland, Michigan; and many cousins.

Pallbearers were Alvin Ohrt, Stanley Gage, Lester Thunn, Edgar Frahm, Bill Mohr and Emil Lorsch.
