MABEL IVERSON TO BE BURIED ON WEDNESDAY

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, at the Herman Legion Hall for Mabel Iverson, 79, who died at her home in Herman January 18, 1982.

A prayer service will be held Tuesday, January 19, at 7 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home.

Rev. Barbara Schenkel will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Mabel Iverson was born September 1, 1902, in Herman to Martin and Elsa Thone Johnson. She married Theodore K. Iverson at Herman on December 17, 1922.

He preceded her in death on May 27, 1971.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Allan Iverson of Herman; and four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Phyllis) Fitch, Herman; Mrs. Vera Osmera, Elkhorn; Mrs. Lila Christensen, Omaha; and Mrs. Carol Podjenski, Omaha. Five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive her.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.

MABEL IVERSON IS BURIED AT HERMAN

Funeral services were held at the Legion Hall in Herman, Wednesday, January 20, for Mabel Johnson Iverson, 79, who died January 18, 1982, at her home in Herman.

Rev. Barbara Schenkel of the Herman Federated Church conducted the services. Music was furnished by Bill Hart and Gracie Husk. Burial with Order of the Eastern Star Ceremony was in the Herman Cemetery.

Mabel Johnson Iverson was born September 1, 1902, on a farm southwest of Herman to Martin and Elsie (Thone) Johnson. She attended Glendale School and was graduated from Blair High School. She taught at Bono and Glendale Schools before her marriage to Theodore K. Iverson on December 17, 1922.

She was an active member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 216 for over sixty years. She had held many offices, including Worthy Matron. She had been President of the past Worthy Matrons for several years. She was a participating member of the Herman Community up to the time of her death.

Survivors include five children: Phyllis Fitch and Allan Iverson of Herman; Vera Osmera of Elkhorn; Lila Christensen and Carol Podjenski of Omaha; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, on May 27, 1971, and also by her two brothers, Lloyd and Merrill Johnson.

Pallbearers were James Osmera, Sr., Robert Osmera, Steven Fitch, Jay Podjenski, Larry Lauritsen, James Osmera, Jr., and Dr. James Thone.

Campbell Mortuary of Blair was in charge of arrangements.
