It is with feeling of deep regret, that we announce the death of our townsman, J. L. Gardner, which took place yesterday morning about 5:30 o’clock at his home on Lincoln Street. Mr. Gardner had been suffering with heart trouble for some time. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the house. Rev. Shiek and the members of the G. A. R. having charge of the services.

Deceased was 72 years old the 27th of last month and was born in Newark, New Jersey, later living in Pennsylvania where he was married. Deceased and his wife had been residents of Blair nearly ten years.

Deceased was a member of John A. Dix Post G. A. R., and as a man, he was liked and respected by all who knew him.

Veteran Joseph L. Gardner, after a couple of weeks illness, died at his home this morning at 5:30 o’clock. He was taken down with a severe attack of heart trouble, and while he rallied at times, he continued to grow weaker.

He was born seventy two years ago the 27th of December in Newark, New Jersey. He later lived in Pennsylvania where he was married. There were no children in the family and to morn his loss he leaves only his wife, who in her bereavement has the sympathy of many friends.

Mr. Gardner was a member of John A. Dix Post G. A. R.

The funeral will be held from the house Friday afternoon at two o’clock.

J. L. Gardner died at 5 o’clock this morning from a complication of diseases including a paralytic stroke and kidney trouble. He was 72 years of age and his strong constitution battled stoutly for life, but the end came as it must come for us all someday.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the home on Lincoln and Sixth Streets, Rev. J. G. Shick officiating. Mr. Gardner was a member of the G. A. R. and the burial will be under the auspices of that order.
