SERVICES ARE ON WEDNESDAY FOR VIOLA JUEDES

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at St. Paul Lutheran Church near Arlington for Mrs. Arthur (Viola) Juedes, 62, who died May 15, 1983, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

The Rev. Dennis Maaske will conduct the services. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Viola Juedes was born February 5, 1921, in South Chester, Kansas, to Ralph and Grace Rieke Barnes. She lived in Chester, Nebraska, and Hebron, Nebraska, before moving to Arlington about 13 years ago.

She was a nurses aide at Memorial Hospital in Hebron for about 20 years. She worked at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair for five years.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary, both at Arlington.

She married Arthur Juedes on February 8, 1942, at South Chester, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alvin; and an infant sister.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; sons, Robert Juedes and Larry Juedes, both of Fremont, and Ronald Juedes of Pender; and a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Debra) Kirchmann, Jr., of Fremont. Two brothers, Robert Barnes, Belleville, Kansas, and Dale Barnes, Clifton, Kansas; sisters, Mrs. Robert (Wilma) Sayler, Wichita, Kansas, and Mrs. Delmer (Barbara) Young, York, Nebraska; and three grandchildren also survive her.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements for the services.

VIOLA BARNES JUEDES

Viola Mae Barnes was born Feb. 5, 1921 south of Chester, Nebr., just across the state line in Kansas. She was the daughter of Ralph M. and Grace (Rieke) Barnes. Viola was united in Holy Matrimony with Arthur Juedes at South Chester, Kansas on Feb. 8, 1942. Viola and Arthur lived in the Chester and Hebron area where Viola served for 20 years as a nurses aide at Memorial Hospital in Hebron.

Thirteen years ago the couple moved to Arlington, Nebr. and Viola continued her caring work as a nurses aide at Community Memorial Hospital in Blair, Nebr. Viola was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She passed from this life Sunday evening, May 15, 1983 at Community Memorial Hospital in Blair, Nebr. at the age of 62 years. She is survived by her husband, Arthur; 3 sons, Robert, Larry and Ronald; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Debra) Kirchman, jr.; 2 brothers, Robert & Dale Barnes; 2 sisters, Mrs. Robert (Wilma) Saylor and Mrs. Delmer (Barbara) Young and by 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alvin and an infant sister.

Lunch will be served in the Parish Hall after services at the cemetery. The family invites everyone to join them.
