Return From Edwards Funeral At Blair

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foster returned Saturday from Omaha where they were called by the serious illness of their son-in-law, Pressley Edward, who died at St. Joseph’s hospital on Monday of last week.

Mr. Edwards was foreman of the smelting works in Omaha and was sick only twelve days from lead poisoning, which caused his death. Preparations were made to take him to the government hospital, but he was taken so very ill that he could not be moved. After intense suffering he passed away on Monday, and on Thursday afternoon the funeral was held in Blair and burial made beside his father, Cy Edwards, who lived for a number of years in Chadron and was well known here. The American Legion had full charge of the funeral and burial services which were very beautiful and impressive.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Massick, Mrs. Howlett of Casper and Mrs. Otto Bailey of near Wayside also went down and stayed for the funeral. Mrs. Howlett and Mrs. Bailey who are sisters of Mrs. Edwards will remain for a few days with her. Mr. and Mrs. Massick returned Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Foster.

Pressley Edwards and Mrs. Ferne Foster, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foster, of Chadron, were married on December 5, 1922, and since that time have made their home in Omaha. Besides his wife, Mr. Edwards left a young son and daughter by a former marriage, who live with and are cared for by his mother, Mrs. Ella Edwards of Fremont. One brother, Bert of Fremont and one sister, Mrs. Pauline Palmer of Minneapolis also survive and all were present during the illness and at the funeral.

Mrs. Edwards has many friends here who are grieved to hear of her great sorrow and will be interested to know that she will continue in her position with the H.A. Wolfe Insurance company, for which company she has been employed for several years.

Note: Buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Blair, NE. Date of birth on cemetery record is 1892. Name on tombstone and cemetery records is Pressly. Buried in Blk 18, Lot 9 Sp 11.
