# 1 - - ARTHUR F. JUEDES, 85

Arthur F. Juedes, 85, of Arlington, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at Arbor Manor Living Center in Fremont.

Services were Saturday, Dec. 19, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington with the Rev. Dr. Michael L. Rogers officiating.

Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Glenn, Gerald and Galen Sasse and Aaron, Joshua and Roger Juedes.

Arthur F. Juedes was born March 4, 1913, in Hebron and farmed there until moving to Arlington in 1970.

On Feb. 8, 1942, he married Viola M. Barnes in South Chester, Kan.

When the couple moved to Arlington, he began working as a drill press operator for Valmont Industries at Valley. He retired in 1982.

Mrs. Juedes died on May 15, 1983.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Mary Juedes of Fremont, Larry Juedes of Fremont and Ronald Juedes of Pender; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Ed Kirchmann, Jr., of Fremont; two brothers, Martin Juedes of Hebron and Edgar Juedes of Fremont; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola; two brothers, Gerhardt and Harry Juedes; and two sisters, Olga Juedes and Ida Maaske.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

Arlington - - The funeral of Arthur F. Juedes, 85, of Arlington will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

He died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998. at Arbor Manor Living Center in Fremont.

Juedes was born March 4, 1913, at Hebron. He grew up at Hebron where he farmed until moving to Arlington in 1970. He then worked as a drill press operator for Valmont Industries at Valley until his retirement in 1982. He married Viola M. Barnes Feb. 8, 1942, at South Chester, Kan. She died May 15, 1983.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

Survivors include: three sons, Robert (and wife, Mary) Juedes of Fremont; Larry Juedes of Fremont; and Ronald Juedes of Pender; daughter, Debra (Mrs. Ed) Kirchmann, Jr., of Fremont; two brothers, Martin Juedes of Hebron and Edgar Juedes of Fremont; and six grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

The Rev. Michael L. Rogers will officiate Saturday’s service. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. today at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, and one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the church or the American Cancer Society.
