Geisler, Alfred E

The funeral for Alfred E. Geisler, 89, of Winslow, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Hooper.

Mr. Geisler died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1991, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

He was born June 25, 1902, in Hooper. He farmed east of Winslow all his life until 1950, when he retired and moved into Winslow. He moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner in June 1983. In June 1991, he moved to the A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hooper, the Lutheran Layman’s League and the Farmers Union Coop Board of Winslow, former member of the Winslow Volunteer Fire Department and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winslow where he was a church elder and was on the Winslow School Board Dist. No. 85.

He married Charlotte Kuss Feb. 16, 1928, in Winslow. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Lowell of Hooper; a daughter, Marion (Mrs. LeRoy) Stork of Winslow; a sister, Hilda Kuss of Fremont; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The Rev. Kenneth Ernstmeyer will officiate Saturday’s service. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and an hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
