Marvin C. Geisler, 92

Marvin C. Geisler, 92, of Fremont, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at the Hooper Care Center.

Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 7 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Hooper, with interment in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Marvin C. Geisler was born Jan. 8, 1913, on the family farm near Hooper. He grew up there, attending rural school. He remained on the same farm until retiring and moving into Fremont in 1978, and he then helped part time on the farm, which his son now operates.

On April 4, 1937, he married Frieda Timme.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Hooper, where he had served in many of the church offices, and also assisted with the Sunday School program. He was a member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Anita Geisler of St. Louis, Mo., Leonard and Barbara Geisler, and Vernon and Judy Geisler, all of Hooper; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda, in 1989; and two sisters, Esther Schuette and Paula Krohn; and an infant brother.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church Faith development for Children, the Lutheran Hour Ministries, and the Daily Chapel (KTIC/KWPN).

Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
