NELS JOHSON DIES IN CALFORNIA

Nels Johnson, who for some months has been residing with his son, J. W., of Oxnard, California, passed away last Saturday, November 14.

Deceased was well known in Blair having resided here for approximately forty years and her he reared a family and educated them in the schools of our city.

He was born in Viela, Denmark, on June 2, 1859 and was 77 years old at his death. He came to this country when a young man and for years operated a blacksmith shop in Blair.

His wife passed away March 26, 1934 and on May 6, 1934 a daughter, Mrs. Anna Roberts, of Omaha also died. Since that time he has been unsettled and lonely. He made a trip to California where he visited his sons, who reside there, but the yearning for his old home and friends brought him back to Blair.

After a few months stay here he returned to California, where after a few months he passed away.

Nels Johnson, as Blair people know him, was a man of deep religious nature, and he lived the life as he saw it. He was scrupulously honest and reputation in Blair where he is known is of the best. He had made unto himself a number of friends who really loved him for his sterling worth.

He leaves to mourn his death four sons, Arthur, of Blair; Louie and Samuel J., of Los Angeles, California and J. W. of Oxnard, California; and two daughters, Mrs. G. McIntosh, of Seattle, Washington and Mrs. Blanche McCord, of Lost Angeles, California and one brother, J. P. Johnson, of Blair.

The sympathy of friends at Blair goes out to the bereaved children.

The body was brought to Blair Wednesday evening and was taken to the Bendorf Funeral Home and the funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p. m. from the Free Methodist church and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
