WE WILL MISS YOU

To the editor:

This is a letter to the Blair and Dana community. Our son Timothy was laid to rest Jan. 12. We heard many, many great things about our son from the people he lived with there. However, no one heard about the beginning. The Tim in peewee football that always had a clean uniform because his teammates wouldn’t let their QB get sacked. About how, because of that, he would jump in the mud so he could look like his buddies. How he went to see his younger sister compete in marching band competition and was the loudest cheering. How when we went to Florida one spring and he and his sis, Kathie, drove her VW bug and he sang to the 18-wheelers “On Top of Old Smoky “ over the CB to help them stay awake. We didn’t find a picture of his car, a Chevy Nova he found buried in a snow pile, which he cleaned up and was his pride and joy.

We asked him when he first got sick who would call us if he got too sick to call. He said, “I will never get that sick not to call you.” Well, he got that sick and we didn’t get called. In fact, we have never got called to tell us just how bad he was and never got to say goodbye.

….well, this is it, Timothy. We love you now and forever…..someday I’ll be there and we can play catch again…… Dad

from Richard and Beverly Johnson, Polo, Ill.
