Leonard Reining, 74

A proud Vietnam Veteran

Leonard Reining, 74, of Midwest City, Okla., formerly of Blair, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at his home after a courageous and long battle with cancer.

Services were April 14 at the Bill Eisenour Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City, Okla. Interment was in Arlington Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City, with U.S. Air Force military honors.

Leonard F. Reining was born February 15, 1938, in Adrian, Minn., to Raymond and Mary Ann Reining.

The family moved to Blair in 1943. He graduated from Blair High School in 1956.

In July of 1956, he enlisted in the Air Force. He retired in August of 1978 and was a proud Vietnam veteran.

His hobbies included bowling and pitching fast pitch softball while in the military and after retirement, along with watching his son and granddaughters play softball. He was also an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Faye; son, Darrell of Defuniak Springs, Fla.; three granddaughters, Randi, Rachelle and Marissa Reining of Midwest City; brother, Jerry of Hawaii; sister and brother-in-law, Trudy and Lyle Truhlsen of Blair; sister-in-law, Phyllis Reining of Omaha; aunt, Sister Bernadone of Saginaw, Mich.; nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Loren.
