Kevin D. Kitrell, 51, of Blair, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services were Monday, April 16, at Country Bible Church in Blair.

Kevin Douglas Kitrell was born March 31, 1961, in Omaha to Gerald and Barbara (McCartney) Kitrell. He attended Ashland-Greenwood High School and graduated in 1979 as the class salutatorian.

After high school he played semi-pro baseball for the Chicago Cubs farm system until he received an arm injury.

He enrolled at Nebraska Wesleyan University where he played basketball. He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan with a degree in economics.

On August 3rd, 1985, he was united in marriage to Marcia Brei.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia of Blair; daughters Katy, Kristy, Kerri, and Miki; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Steve Spargen of Ashland; brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Amy Kitrell of Ashland; mother- and father-in-law, Merlin and Marilyn Brei of Fremont; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Jo and John Brei-Crawley of Lakenheath, United Kingdom, Marji and Larry North of Portland, Ore., and Mike and Ruth Brei of North Platte; nieces and nephews, Blake, Bo, Brett, Bryce, and Barret Kitrell, Christopher, Sarah, and Mallory Spargen, Jessica and husband Mike Beyer, Julie Brei-Crawley and husband Joseph Fries, Kristin, Michael, Sarah and Jamie North, Amanda Brei and fiancé Brad Schlegel and Logan Brei and fiancée Natalie Heimann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Barbara Kitrell.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
