Henry Georgeson

Henry J. Georgeson, 95, longtime area farmer, died Friday, September 19, 1986, at the Tekamah Senior Citizens Home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 1986, at the First Baptist Church in Tekamah with Rev. Larry G. Orvis officiating. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery at Tekamah.

He was born on December 28, 1890, near Centerville, South Dakota, and farmed in the Silver Creek area nearly all his life, until retiring in 1955.

He was married to Almeda Dye on December 26, 1918, at Tekamah. Mrs. Georgeson passed away on August 19, 1981.

Georgeson was a member of the First Baptist Church at Tekamah, and was a longtime member of the Silver Creek Baptist Church, having been Superintendent of the Silver Creek Baptist Church, Sunday School for over 25 years. He also served on the Co-op Boards of both the Farmers Elevator and the Burt County Oil Company at various times throughout the years. He was a 60-year member of I.O.O.F. Orange Lodge No. 83.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Merwin H. and Doris Georgeson of Lyons, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

The Hamel and Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
