Sheila A. Gerdes, 58, of Omaha, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, after suffering from lung problems for the past years. Services were Saturday, Sept. 19, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Sheila Ann Nelson was born March 17, 1951, in Omaha to Denton and Caryl Nelson.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Omaha; sons and daughter-in-law, Phil and Roiann Gravert of Fort Calhoun, and Dan Gravert and J. R. Gerdes of Omaha; three grandchildren, P. J. Gravert, Jessica Gravert and Denton Lee Malson-Gerdes; mother, Caryl Nelson, of Fort Calhoun; brother, Michael, of Fort Calhoun; sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Bill Schurevich of Fremont; sister-in-law, Michelle Nelson of Arlington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Denton, and a brother, Patrick.
