McCORMICK RITES FRIDAY

CLARENCE McCORMICK, EX-BLAIRITE, DIES IN OMAHA; FUNERAL HERE

Apparently the victim of a heart attack, Clarence N. McCormick, 73, former Blairite, collapsed Monday afternoon while at work for the Omaha-Council Bluffs Street Railway Co., and died a short time later in a hospital. He and Mrs. McCormick had moved to Omaha from Blair nine years ago, and were living at 3404 Parker St.

The body will lie in state at the Hoffman chapel in Omaha until noon Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at the Blair Church of Christ at 3 p.m. Friday, interment to follow in Blair cemetery.

Mr. McCormick was born June 2, 1873, at Kennard, and spent most of his life in Washington county. He was the son of Martin and Nancy McCormick. He and Leone Frances Moffett of Herman were married in January, 1905.

For many years the McCormicks lived here at 300 West South St., where their son, Leo “Pat” McCormick, now resides. Mr. McCormick, a carpenter, also was a custodian for the city schools here for a number of years. He was a member of the Christian church since 1914.

The McCormicks had 11 children, all of whom survive the father.

Survivors: Wife, Leone, Omaha, six daughters, Mrs. Arthur Springgate (Thelma) of Arlington, Mrs. Marshall Willkins (Opal) and Mrs. Henry Meador (Jeannette), both of Fremont, Mrs. John Frazier (Grace) of Herman, Mrs. Harvey Jaycox (Lois) of Columbia, Mo., and Mrs. Paul Fackler (Mildred) of Blair; and five sons, Leo of Blair, Norman of San Bernardino, Calif., Glenn, with the navy at San Diego, Calif., William, with the army at Camp Hood, Tex., and George, Omaha.

Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Laura Tietsort of Scottsbluff, and nine grandchildren.
