Samuel J. Moffitt, an old resident of this county near Herman, fell dead of heart failure last Friday at the home of his son near Spencer, Neb., and the body was brought here on the train from the west and taken to Herman for burial. Rev. F.M. Sturdevant went up and conducted a short service at the grave. Mrs. Clarence McCormick and Mrs. Hans Hansen, of this city are daughters and with their husbands accompanied the body to Herman. Mr. Moffatt was past 70 years of age and leaves eleven children.

J. Moffitt was brought back to Herman to be buried. The funeral was held Monday afternoon.
