MRS. BENGT JOHNSON BURIED TUESDAY

Mrs. Bengt Johnson passed away at her home in Kennard last Saturday, June 19, at the age of 80 years, 90 months and 15 days.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Landskrona, Skane, Sweden on April 4, 1857. She grew to womanhood in her native country, coming to America in 1881. Landing in Omaha, she and Mr. Johnson were married and continued their residence in that city until 1883. In that year they moved to a farm near Kennard where they lived until after the death of the husband on October 1, 1915. Soon after that she moved into Kennard where she made her home and where she died.

Three sons are left to mourn her death: Elof of Wakefield, Nebraska; Carl of Thurston, Nebraska; and John of Kennard, and all grieve deeply the loss of their mother who has been all that is possible for a mother to be. Besides the sons, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild survive and will miss her kindly and helpful smile.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2 o’clock from the Lutheran church in Kennard with Rev. James Lund of the First Lutheran church in Blair officiating, and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
